My BIO: A Journey of Wellness and Transformation
I’m Danielle, and my wellness journey is a story of resilience and transformation. At 54, I’ve experienced both the highs and lows of life, gaining a deep understanding of wellness and recovery along the way.
Ten years ago, at the age of 44, I was a working mother, meticulously juggling work, family, and various commitments, striving to be a superwoman in every aspect of my life. But life had other plans. I contracted whooping cough from my daughter’s friend, which led to pneumonia and a severe illness. It left me with transverse myelitis and cerebellar ataxia, like a stroke affecting my left side, memory, speech, and causing extreme fatigue. I had to take off my superwoman cape and rely on others.
Over three tough years, I fought my way back, gradually regaining my strength until I became the strongest woman in my gym. Medications and stress pushed me into early menopause, adding to my challenges. Then, three years ago, I faced another obstacle—a workplace injury in a public hospital while trying to help a patient during COVID-19. Despite this setback and subsequent surgery, I remained resolute in my commitment to recovery, embodying resilience and determination.
Amidst these challenges, I also went through the breakdown of a 25-year marriage, leading to a profound loss of identity. However, through this journey, I have found peace with who I am and have emerged stronger and more self-assured.
With over three decades of experience in orthotics and prosthetics, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role as a personal trainer and wellness coach at Thrive Health Concepts. My deep understanding of injury and health challenges, coupled with my extensive background, allows me to empower individuals to achieve their fitness goals and improve their overall well-being.
My passion for fitness extends beyond traditional realms. In the past, I held qualifications as a triathlon coach, swim coach, and cycle instructor. This diverse experience allows me to offer a holistic approach to health and fitness, catering to the unique needs of every individual.
I love to laugh, I’m always smiling, and I believe in being the person who brings energy to a room, not someone who sucks it out. My journey is the foundation for my mission to offer practical support, understanding, and a path to reclaim vitality and transform lives. I’m here to help women like me put their superwoman capes back on and become the best versions of themselves.
